Lately it’s become a real trend to sneak into the boys’ wardrobe and borrow some of their clothes for your looks, and this season might be the perfect moment to do that, with all those oversized hoodies and sweaters, shirts, hats, sweatpants or blazers, just laying around the house. A true fashionista will also try to break boundaries in an effort to impress everyone, and one of the easy ways to do that is by simply borrowing some classic menswear items and claiming them as your own.
Today I’ve made a short list for you with 6 menswear pieces that will make you the queen of street style this Fall.
Blazers
Blazers are one of my favorite things to wear this season, but if you get one from the boys those masculine lines will highlight your little body and figure, and it will make you look even more stylish. If your boyfie already has one, and it’s also oversized, lucky you, just go out there and borrow it for a few hours. I’m sure he won’t mind.
But you could also go to the men’s section of some of your favorite stores and try to find one. Look for blazers that will give you those big shoulders or a cool boxy look, but you must always pay attention to the proportions, and stick to skinny jeans or some tapered pants, because this blazer must be the focal piece of your outfit.
Sweaters
Oversized cashmere sweaters are the number one thing to wear every cold season – that’s why there are so many options to choose from, for both men and women. If you want to make sure your outfit is slightly different, just go with a sweater borrowed from the boys, because it’s not something a girl would normally wear. Roll up your sleeves, pair it with something nice, and you’ll add some extra coolness to any outfit.
Hats
I’ve always thought some items are cooler for men and those lovely baseball caps are just the best example. They’re perfect for those rainy autumn days, and if you can’t find one in your boyfriend’s wardrobe, there are tons of options in all men’s stores. You could also go for a beanie, that’s a decent alternative, but wearing the right baseball cap, with some skinny jeans or knitwear will surely help you turn a lot of heads on the streets.
Hoodies
Definitely the cherry on top for a cool autumn look will be your boyfriend’s hoodie. And if you’re lucky enough to have a partner who loves fashion just as much as you do, then you’ve hit the jackpot, because he probably has many awesome hoodies to choose from. A hoodie with some cashmere fabric on it would be just perfect, because it adds a touch of style to a cool design, and pairing it with some structured jackets or a fitted blazer will do wonders for you.
Shirts
Well, here’s the basic option: shirts! We all have a wide range of options when it comes to shirts and probably different favorites. For me simple white shirts will always do the trick, but I also love shirts with stripes or plaid patterns. An oversized men’s shirt should be also on your list, because you could wear it like a dress for a bold look, or you could tuck it into a mini skirt for balanced proportions.
Sweatpants
This year the fashion industry revolves around one word – comfort – and we saw this from H&M and Zara to the newest Gucci collections, and not only for girls, but also for men. Grab your boyfie to a shopping session and convince him to buy a pair of side-striped sweatpants that would be perfect for you too haha 😀 Their oversized design is just what you need for a casual day out, and paired with a tee or a blazer you will have a stylish and trendy look.
