Time Stands Still at The Red Ravine 1

Time Stands Still at The Red Ravine

If there’s one thing in the US I’ve always wanted to see, it’s definitely the Grand Canyon. This incredible natural wonder has been on my bucket list for a very long time but, since I don’t think I’ll be able to get there any time soon, I think I’ve found just the next best thing, a short drive away from my home :D.

Rapa Rosie or the Red Ravine, is often considered our local version of the Grand Canyon, a little-known natural wonder, with imposing walls that can reach even 100 meters and unusual red bed features that give this whole area a stunning colour. The different rock formations here have been naturally carved by rain water as the years went by in unusual shapes of columns, towers and pyramids.

It’s a one-of-a-kind natural monument that’s ever-evolving and the best thing is that not many tourists know about this place, so.. you can probably enjoy its beauty in complete silence. It’s a little bit tricky to get here, because the road to the Red Ravine is very bad in some parts – probably that’s why it’s not a busy tourist spot – but if you have the right car you can even get close to the base of the ravine.

We’ve planned to get here right before the sunset, so we could admire those strange forms of the clay slopes during the “golden hour”, and it was everything I hoped for, and more! Of course, I took as many photos as I could, but since this place was so nice, I also wanted to take a few photos with my boyfriend and.. we had to match somehow, right? šŸ™‚

Luckily for us, a few days before we’ve received two gorgeous wood watches from JORD and both of them seemed to be the perfect accessories for this magical setting. My watch had a beautiful mix between an intensely hued sandalwood and a vibrant green dial and his watch had an ash face, with a brilliantly bronzed Koa grain – a great combo that probably looks amazing anywhere, especially here.

Of course, both watches were showing the right time, but we felt that the whole world stopped for a moment, while we were admiring this unique natural wonder. If you haven’t been there yet, this is definitely a must see!

PS: Iā€™m also hosting a giveaway together with Jord Watches and one of you guys could win a $100 off code for any of their beautiful watches. It’s super easy, just click here and enter your dates šŸ™‚ Can’t wait to see your Jord watch šŸ˜€
