The day when I’ve met the Greek gods

Hello girls 🙂 How was your weekend? mine was very cold with a lot of snow and I totally loved it. It snowed like in fairy tales and since I didn’t have the chance to make a snowman this year… I will probably do it these days. 

But until then we must talk about my last beautiful experience from Cyprus. As I’ve said in my previous post, this magical country allowed me to be face to face with many pages of history that I’ve read and being there, walking around all those great ruins, made me feel like I was literally going back in time. So sit back, relax and discover together with me 2 more great places from this amazing country.

Next to the ancient city of Kourion you could also find the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, standing tall against the test of time. This was the place where the great Greek god was worshipped and I’ve spend a couple of hours here trying to imagine each part of the temple and the other ruins around.

But my favorite place was a bit further away, on my way to Paphos: Petra tou Romiou or the Aphrodite’s Rock. The legends say that this is the place where the goddess of beauty, Aphrodite, was born from the waves and foam, and also a local myth states that any person who swims around Aphrodite’s Rock will be blessed with eternal beauty. Unfortunately I couldn’t give it a go, because the sea was very angry and the waves were higher than 2m, but it was a spectacular sight.

Another thing that I totally loved about this place was that the entire beach was filled with hearts made of stones, of different sizes and shapes, showing off the love between people. I totally liked them and obviously I’ve made my presence felt by leaving a lovely little heart made by me 🙂

I didn’t want to leave too soon from the Aphrodite’s Rock and I think I’ve spend almost half a day there and I wasn’t the only one who fell in love with that place. There were many people who were just standing there, doing nothing but watching the beautiful waves crashing into the rocks and listening to the sound of the sea. That place makes you feel absolutely amazing and if you ever get to Cyprus, this is definitely a must see.

For this day I’ve picked a chic outfit that could be worthy of the gods’ attention and let me tell you that it ain’t easy to step through ruins with heels, but a girl has to do everything she can for her purpose, right?
