Hellooo my dear friends – First of all, I’m really sorry for my absence lately, but I had a really, really good reason. As some of you might have seen on my Instagram account already, and especially my Insta stories, for the last few days I’ve been travelling a “little” bit through Europe, and now, after more than one week of walking and discovering new amazing places, I’m finally ready to share with you guys my first experience.
My first stop was in the beautiful Krakow, in Poland, a wonderful city which impressed me way more than I ever expected. Krakow is charming in so many ways, a city that has been through a lot of difficult moments throughout its history, but survived it all, and it’s now a real treat.
The Second World War has left a serious mark on this city, and those grey-black buildings that you could often see around town will give you a strange feeling, but the stunning architecture, where the gothic style prevails, will be more than enough to shock and awe every single one of us.
Of course, the most important part of the town is the Main Square or Rynek Glowny – the heart of city and apparently one of the largest squares in the world. It’s a special place where you’ll find some of the most important attractions in Krakow, and if you’re here before Christmas, you’ll find here a lovely Christmas Fair, which is one of the most attractive in Europe.
In this square my eyes were delighted by buildings like the Cloth Hall, a place from where you could buy different accessories and souvenirs for your loved ones, Church of the Virgin Mary, a marvelous church with two imposing towers that can be seen from every part of Krawkow, the Hall Tower, which stood the test of time and went through a massive fire that burned out the old town hall, or the Adam Mickiewicz Monument, a beautiful statue of the most important poet from Poland, which was unfortunately destroyed by the Nazis, and replaced with an exact copy – this statue has always been the main meeting point in Krakow.
Now, enough with the history lesson 🙂 During my visit in Krakow the weather was very, very cold, and layering was the first thing in my mind. I’ve picked a lovely white combination, with some white flared trousers, a grey knitted sweater and a white coat, accessorized with a big, fluffy scarf, to keep me warm, a wonderful bag from Clote.ro, a pair or black boots and a cool little choker necklace that was actually made by me.
