Hello from Mostar 1

Hello from Mostar!

Happy Monday guys 🙂 If you’re following me closely on Instagram, I’m pretty sure most of you have already guessed what I’m going to share with you today, because I just can’t resist sharing in real time what I do or the lovely places I visit 🙂

And these days I’ve discovered a new country and a magical little town that I totally recommend you to visit.

On our way to the sea 😀 we’ve decided to go through Bosnia and Herzegovina and made a short stop to Mostar, a charming town, filled with history and nestled in the deep valley of the Neretva, a river that’s probably the most beautiful I’ve ever seen, with emerald-green waters that will make you stare at it for hours.

But the entire city is extremely appealing as well. It was always one of the most ethnically diverse towns in this part of Europe, and you could easily see that in its amazing architecture, where numerous cultures have been combined into one overwhelming package, with cobblestone streets and many buildings that are a few centuries-old.

But the most recognizable landmark from Mostar is definitely the amazing Old Bridge (Stari Most), which was built by the Ottomans in the 16th century and it’s one of the most important pieces of Islamic architecture in the Balkans. Thank you Wikipedia 🙂

We found just the perfect spots to admire this majestic bridge, after taking a few amazing shots that I totally love, we’ve started to discover the old town step by step, getting lost through the old bazaar or all the narrow streets. It feels like a little maze, on both sides of the Old Bridge, and it’s filled with so many lovely boutiques and amazing restaurants by the river 🙂

After many hours of walking around and admiring the beauty of Mostar, we’ve enjoyed some local delicacies at a cozy restaurant and went back at the hotel to get ready for another day. As I’m looking at these shots right now, I realize Mostar is even more incredible when you get to see it with your own eyes. I hope you like it just as much as I did 🙂

  1. Georgina, your pictures and views are so beautiful and out-of-this-world!
I found your pictures when google-image-searching Mostar since I’m planning my family’s trip to Bosnia+Croatia+Montenegro next September.
May I know what spot/spots were you at in your first 3-4 pictures here (the pictures where it looked like you are higher up and getting panoramic views of the town and bridge below/from afar)?

Thank You, Georgina. Looking forward to your advice. =)
